Davenport Orchid Scene Plate #1

This is a really nice floral plate made by Davenport in England in 1887. According to the explanation of this mark I foudn they stated this impressed mark dates to around 1800 but that seemed wrong so it helps having it dated :) It is a superb plate that has a simple shape to it with a gold trim to the edge. The ebst part is that amazingly well painted orchid flower in the center including the leaves and blossoms. Some other leaves in the background to make it all look amazing. There are even some raised white highlights to the elaves to give it more depth. Hard to show in the pictures but the quality of the painting is top notch. Not sure of what type of orchid this is. The plate is in superb condition as nice as they come! The piece is marked with an impressed DAVENPORT mark as shown. The plate is 0.75 inches tall and 9 in diameter. Signed underneathR. Eaton 1887. I could not find anything about this artist but he was definitely talented. And amazingly I have a second plate with a different orchid if anyone would be interested in a pair. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $299
