Creil et Montereau Plate

This is a great plate made by Creil et Montrereau around 1880 (I think). I cannot find this mark anywhere nor another plate like it except for one online that has little information with it. I do know this type of decoration though and it is one of the more fun ones from the 18th century often used by makers like VIenna, Nymphenburg and Niderviller . The decoration is called trompe-l'oeil and in this case it seems to be printed. The plate is made of faience a type of ceramic used in France more than porcelain. The rim has a woodgrain design to it with the center having a puce scene in it that looks like a piece of paper that was attached to the wood. A neat effect that is quite decorative and popular because of that. The plate is in superb condition with just some minor wear. It is marked underneath with a fancy puce mark as shown. The plate is 0.875 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
