Cozzi Saucer & Unknown Cup

This is an interesting cup made by an unknown Italian maker and a saucer made Cozzi. A great match but still a match. Both definitely made in the 18thc entury. Both are hand painted with a very subtle design for the color loving Italians :) Just a nice gold floral design with a blue and gold trim. Simple leaves to the saucer and floral arrangements to the cup. Simple yet very elegant! There is even a flower in the bottom of the cup which is a sure sign of quality. The set is in great condition with just a touch of wear to the gilding and some firing inclusions to the saucer. The cup is just under 1.625 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is marked with Cozzi's usual red anchor mark but now to the interesting part. The cup has a puce star mark as well as an under glaze P. mark. I could not find anything like it in any of my books or online searches. Definitely a very unusual mark. If I had to guess I'd say Doccia is a likely candidate but LeNove and Venice also used a star mark so they could also have made it. Or even another maker!? No idea but definitely italian from this period. Some old museum IDs underneath as well. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
