Cozzi Musician Figurine

This is a figurine made by Cozzi in the early 19th century or maybe even late 18th century. It is of a young boy playing a contrabass. Very well modeled in softpaste porcelain and painted with a typical Italian base with lots of gilding. Cozzi ecisted from around 1764 until 1812 so quite a while and made some superb porcelain. The figurine displays perfectly though there has been some top notch restoration done to it - I cannot tell what was done but the bow was definitely worked on, as was the arm. The entire nude colored body has a weird feel though as usual it was probably jsut oversprayed to hide the bit of actual work. I cannot tell it was repaired when just looking at it so a true experts work and I rarely say this! The back of his body has lots of bumps in the paste which are original to it from the making. The figurine is about 4.625 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 2 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the red anchor mark. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
