Cozzi Reticulated Basket

This is a rare reticulated basket made by Cozzi in the 18th century. I could not find another made of porcelain but did find a few made of Majolica by them. The factory made soft-paste porcelain in Venice and was founded by Geminiano Cozzi in 1764. It closed in 1812.The basket is superbly modedl with the sides made to look like a basket weave with red, blue and gold flowers to all intersections. The inside rim has a blue, red and gold design to it, gold trim to the edge and a red, blue and gold floral design to the bottom inside. Some smaller flowers to the inside wall as well. The Imari colors look superb on this piece! The piece is in great condition with small brown stain spots to the inside as shown and the basket has sagged a bit during firing which is common to softpaste porcelain. So it's not quite even in height in all spots. Tried to show that in the photos. No chips, etc. which is amazing. It displays perfectly and is a very rare example to find. The basket is 2.5 to 2.75 inches tall, 8.25 inches wide and 5.875 inches deep. It is marked with their red anchor mark underneath as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
