Cozzi Battavia Ware Cup & Saucer

This is a rare treat - a cup and saucer made by Cozzi around 1770. The factory made porcelain in Venice and was founded by Geminiano Cozzi in 1764 and closed in 1812. I have not come across a piece based on Chinese Battavia ware in the books or my years of dealing with porcelain so definitely something rare. The set is hand painted nicely with their usual flowers and red trim to the inside with the outside / underside having a brown ground to it. There is a larger polychrome floral arrangement to each piece as well as two smaller single flowers and some little leaves. The brown ground to the saucer underside has more of a luster effect to it while the one on the cup is more matte but that's how they were made. The set displays superbly with a little wear to the red trim but sadly the saucer has a star hairline crack to the center as shown. It's stable and won't go anywhere at least. Small chip to the very edge of the saucer. The cup is just over 1.5 inches tall with a diameter of 2.75 inches while the saucer is 1 inch tall and just under 4.5 inches in diameter. Neither piece is marked except for some incised marks as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
