Copenhagen Pot de Creme

This is a a lidded cup / pot au jus / pot de creme / hot chocolate / custard cup with its lid made by Royal Copenhagen in about 1785-1790. A rare early example that is superbly modeled with a relief design all around and a floral finial to the lid. The main body has four hand painted floral arrangements to it and the lid has three small single flowers. Gilding to the handlke and leaves of the finial. A really nice early example by a great maker! The set is in good condition with some minor chipping to the petals of the finial and its leaves as well as some imperfections from when it was made - the worst of it is on the bottom inside where something stuck to it during the firing. Typical issues of early examples by any maker and not really considered damage. One rarely ever sees any of their early examples so it's a special piece. The cup is marked with the three wavy blue lines as well as an impressed numbers 7 and a script m or an incised 3 hard to make that one out. The cup and lid are 3 inches tall including the finial and 2.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
