Copenhagen Leg Shape Needle Case

This is a rare hollow porcelain leg made for use as a needle case by Royal Copenhagen in the 18th century. Took me a while to figure out the maker but the size and look finally gave it away. The piece has a gold lid - I didn't have it tested but these are always gold when they are this color from this period though I do not know what type. These legs are called Flohbein in German since theirs often have a little flea was painted on them as a joke but this is not the case here. It is however very nicely modeld with a pink bow just below the knee, the top looks like a sock that has bunched up a bit and the bottom is a nice high heel shoe that is hand painted perfectly. Just a really nice piece that is hard to find again for sure.It is not marked but I figured it out by finding two others that were ID as Copenhagen one of which was marked. The piece is in superb condition with a touch of wear, a bit of a mold line that is under the glaze to the top front and an unglazed spot to the back where something probably touched in the kiln or there was some sort of firing support. This is from when it was made. The leg is a 3.375 inches long so much larger than the German versions with a top idameter of 0.875 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
