Copeland CF Hurten Plate

This is a really nice octagonal plate made by Copeland Spode in the mid to late 19th century. It is superbly hand painted with a nice wild rose flower with some wild grasses sticking out the top and a butterfly above. The flowers fill most of the well of the plate which is great and the rim has an amazing turquise ground color with a nice gold design to it which is mostly raised and has lots of detail to it. The edge has a nice shape to it as well and is gilded. The plate was attributed to the famous Charles Ferdinand Hürten. It is a gorgeous plate but I am not so sure on that part of it. He did work at Copeland Spode from 1860 to the late 1880's so it fits in terms of the date of the piece. . Hurten was a German artist that did some of the most amazing floral paintings on porcelain ever. The plate is in perfect condition. It is marked with the greenish blue fancy monogram mark with Copeland underneath used from 1851 until 1885 as well as some impressed marks. The mark is only a partial one and hard to make out in this case but it is there. The piece is 0.875 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter at the widest point.
