Copeland Fancy Wall Bracket / Shelf #1

This is a superb figural wall shelf / bracket shelf made by Copeland in the mid to later 19th century. The Ceramic and Crystal Palace Art Union name was used from 1864 until at least 1883. This piece was originally modeled by modelled by D. Roberts and made from Parian porcelain which is said to have originated at Copeland. The shelf is superbly modeled with lots of details. There are acanthus leaf scrolls, beaded trim, fruit garlands to the sides and center as well as my favorite part - the cherub or angel head and wings near to the top. Superbl detail and the parian makes it look extra nice!Certainly a very fun and unusual piece. Would look amazing on the wall with a nice vase or figurine on top for example. The entire shelf is in superb condition with some minor chips to the back edge and corners and a tiny flake to the underside front as shown. It displays superbly! And as an extra good news I do ahve a second piece on the site if anyone is interested in a rare pair. The piece is marked with the impressed Copeland mark as well as Ceramic and Crystal Palace Art Union and a letter N I believe as shown. The shelf is 7.875 inches from top to bottom, 5.5 inches deep and 8 inches wide so a perfect size to fit a nice figure on top. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
