Copeland Huerten Floral Vase

This is a really special vase made by Copeland of England between 1891 and 1897. The mark on the vase was used from 1891 until 1920 by Charles Ferdinand Huerten only worked there until 1897 hence the narrower date range for when the piece was made. The vase is superbly hand painted with nice flowering tree branches all around on a light blue background color. The quality of the painting is superb and the colors look amazing. Different shades of green for the leaves and the flowers are anywhere from orange to pink with a yellow center and white enamel dots as highlights. And if that was't enough the top and bottom part of the vase has an off white ground color to it with some fancy gilding, a ring of raised white enemel beads on gold ground and a couple of raised light blue enamel dots as highlights. Just a stunning combination! The floral scene is signed C.F.H. for Charles Ferdinand Hürten who is quite famous for his superb floral scenes, etc. . Hurten was a German artist that did some of the most amazing floral paintings on porcelain ever. The vase is in great condition but some idiot way back when did drill it and it was converted into a lamp base thus the hole in the center of the base. It does not affect the rest of the piece. There is a very light spot of gold wear to the trim where the main body and base come togetherand a few paint "flaws" to the light blue ground from when it was made. Very minor issues and the piece displays perfectly! It is marked with the Copeland China over England mark as shown. The piece is just over 9.375 inches tall and and about 4.75 inches in diameter.
