Copeland Serving Spoon

This is a very unusal porcelain ladle / spoon made in England in the 19th century. Never seen anything like it. It doesn't feel like traditional hard paste porcelain so probably some sort of Bone China. The handle is also unusual in that it has no curve to it at all - just straight out. The piece is superbly hand painted with a cobalt blue ground color with some really nice gold trim over it and a Kakiemon based bird scene in the center of the bowl. Not sure who made it ut like someone like Copeland or that sort of maker. Not sure what this sort of spoon / ladle would be used for either but it really is a fun piece and much nicer than almost all one comes across from this period. The piece is not marked so that is of no help. It has some stilt marks to the back from when it was made. The piece is in perfect condition which is surprising - it must have always been kept more for display rather than use. The entire piece is just a touch over 7.5 inches long, the bowl has a diameter of 2.875 inches and is about 1 inch deep. If anyone has an idea as to who made it and what it was used for an email would be appreciated! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
