Pirkenhammer Christian Fisher Hermit Plaque

This is a superb plaque made by Pirkenhammer which is now located in Zwickau in the Czech Republic but it used to be in Germany around the mid 19th century. A Mr. Hoeke founded the factory around 1803 with the help of the Greiner family (from the Thuringia area), in about 1810 Christian Fischer & Reichenbach bought it and after 1845 Reichenbach was left. They won a few very high prestige awards for their porcelain which after the 1840's became more decorative and higher quality. This piece here is a great example of their best work. The plaque is hand painted with a superb design after the painting "The Hermit" which was painted by Salomon Koninck in the 17th century. The piece has an old bearded man reading a large book in the center with some dark landscape design all around. The quality is top notch and not like these modern printed pieces one sees all the time now. All hand painted! The plaque comes in a nice frame with a nice design to it. The frame is also older though I am not sure how old. The plaque is marked with an impressed CF mark as shown with a number below it. The painting is of a nice size being about 8 inches tall and 5.75 inches wide. The frame is 8.75 inches by 6.625 inches. The piece is in great condition with a one small damage to the left side of the frame which could easily be hidden and a flaw to the porcelain painting as shown about an inch below the left side of the book. A firing flaw circular in nature which doesn't take away from the piece. The back has an older label on it from a previous owner/dealer as shown.
