Export Open Salt Dish

This is a porcelain salt dish made in China for export in the 18th century. Not something I have seen before in this shape as it is more typical for Europe which it was most likely made for. The dish has a nice shape to it being oval with relief rings to the top and is handpainted with a nice floral arrangement as well as a single flower on top and four flowers on the sides. The piece is in superb condition with one small chip to the top edge as well as some firing issues like a firing crack and small black marks but they don't take away from the overall look at all. The salt dish is not marked underneath but that is normal for this type of ware. It is 1.375 inches tall, 3.375 inches wide and about 2.75 inches deep.
