Chinese Export Tea Caddy w/ Bird

This is a tea caddy / jar made in China in the 18th century for export to the European markets. It is superbly hand painted with a sepia tones design including a bird of prey with its wings stretched out standing on a rocky base as well as a nice trim to the top "shoulders" of the main body, a thin lines all along the bottom and some gilding to the fruit finial of the lid and along the edge. The caddy is in great condition but the lid has a large chip to the underside but since it sits inside the neck it is not visible when on display. Gold is worn on the lid.The piece is 5.375 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and just over 1.25 inches deep. It is unmarked which is the norm! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
