Gotskovsky Relief Floral Plate #1

This is a rare plate made by Chelsea around 1755. It is made of soft paste porcelain and hand painted with four nice floral arrangements along the rim with the spaces between them having a relief floral design to the paste. The center has a single rose to it with multiple blossoms and there is another relief design around the outer well. The porcelain has a nice shape to it and the rim has their typical brown trim to it. Very reminiscent of the Gotzkovsky design made by Meissen. The softpaste combo with their enamel is stunning and dare I say nicer than the German original :) A really nice looking plate. This piece is extremely well done and in pretty much the same condition as the day it was made. No chips, etc. and only very minor wear to the brown trim and a chip to the foot ring that is glazed and from when it was made. A couple of small firing spots as is normal to their early wares. A really nice example! The dish is marked with their red anchor mark as well as a number 4 as shown. Likely a pattern mark rather than a painter's mark. It also has the typical spur marks on the back from firing and the moons when you shine a light through it. The piece is 1.125 inches tall and just over 9.125 inches in diameter.
