Ecuelle Saucer

This is a saucer / stand for an ecuelle (soup bowl) made by Chelsea in the mid 18th century. It is made of softpaste porcelain and hand painted with a nice floral arrangement to one side as well as a smaller on, two single flowers, a double leaf and a really neat closed rose bud and leaf arrangement with a single leaf next to it. The edge has the typical brown trim to it. The flowers are in the German style which is superb. Looks very much like a Meissen saucer from the same period and in combination with the soft paste their stuff is just amazing! The piece is in decent condition but it sadly has a long hairline from the edge into the center. But - if you are msising the saucer to your ecuelle this is still much better than not having one or it even makes a great example by a rare maker by itself. A bit of wear to the brown trim on the edge. It displays nicely. The piece is marked with the tiny red anchor along the foot ring underneath as shown and it has the three typical spur marks on the back from firing. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 7.625 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
