Chelsea Derby Cup & Saucer

This is a nicecup and saucer made by Chelsea Derby during the 18th century. I believe this period lasted from 1770 until 1784. Both pieces are hand painted with polychrome floral swags hung by small gold rings along the edge. Nice gold trim to the edges and a simple gold trim to the handle. A single flower in the center of the saucer and a leaf design tot he bottom inside of the cup - always a sure sign of a quality early piece. Both are nicely made and quite typical of this period. The set is in great condition with some use marks and the gilding along the top edges are worn in places as shown. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is just over 1 inch tall with a diameter of just under 5 inches. Both are marked underneath with the gold anchor crossing the letter D in script mark though it has mostly worn off underneath the saucer. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
