Capodimonte Grape Relief Saucer

This is a very rare and interesting saucer made by Capodimonte in about 1750. I saw it a little while ago and was not so sure about it and a client even asked about it at a later point but after digging around I could not find another example of this decoration so I left it be. It kept bugging me and after digging really deep through every resource I ahd I could still not fin another example but they did do plenty of relief pieces and did a ton of different work with grape designs so I figured it stands to reason that they made cups and saucers as well. Grapes make sense for an Italian company after all! So I bought it to check it out more closely. It is definitely from this period because it has plenty of firing flaws, is soft paste porcelain and that in combination of the mark it all fits. I am sure it was made by them during this period and really is a fun piece. Left in the white to show off all that relief work. Three grape vines with the leaves and bunches of grapes. The leaf design and shape also matches their leaves on other pieces. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.25 inches. It is marked underneath with the blue fleur de lis mark of Capo di Monte which is not something you see often at all! These are often messy as can be seen here which is barely decipherable. The saucer is in good condition with some firing flaws in the form of firing cracks, paste flaws, staining, not being perfectly round plus two small chips to the very edge and another to the foot ring as shown. Neither are bad and it displays nicely. A really nice example and not one you'll find again! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
