Fischer & Reichenbach Cup & Saucer

This is a really nice cup and saucer made by the Bohemian factory Fischer & Reichenbach in the first half of 19th century (1811 until 1852). It was part of the Pirkenhammer factory near Karlovy Vary. The factory won quite a few awards for their wares. The cup and saucer are hand painted with a superb floral design on black ground all around the rim of the saucer and top part of the cup. The rest of the pieces have a design to them including salmon ground color and lots of gilding. The inside of the cup also has gilding to the rim and a few rings around the bottom. Nicely shaped foot on the cup and a nice handle that is gilded as well. More gold trim to the nicely shaped edge of the saucer. A really nice looking set but what makes it so superb is that the gilding is still in amazing condition! One of the nicer piece I have seen by this maker! The cup and saucer are both in superb condition with a couple of tiny nibbles to the udnerside of the cup from when it was made. The saucer is marked with the impressed F&R mark while the cup has an impressed mark I cannot quite make out. The cup is including the handle 2.75 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.875 inches. Please email me for more information or photos.
