Greeting Harlequin Figurine

This is a superb figurine made in Germany in the late 19th century or early 20th century. These pieces are often attributed to the French copy artist Samson but I believe it is much more likely it was made by the German maker Bock Wallendorf or Carl Thieme both of which are very well known to have used many of the 18th century marks on their pieces to try to fool collectors. Either way it is a really fun figure after the Meissen example of the so called greeting harlequin . He is bowing down while holding a hat in his hands and sitting on a tree stump. Nice base with applied flowers to it. His jacket has the typical colorful design to it with his pants having a simple gold stripe to them. A great example and definitely much cheaper than the original 18th century version. The figurine is in great condition with a tiny chip to a leaf on the base, a tiny chip to the base edge as well as a chip to one of the applied flowers as shown. The figure is marked underneath with the under glaze blue CC under a corwn mark originally used by Ludwigsburg in the 18th century. The figurine is about 4.75 inches tall, 4.125 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or photos.
