Bayeux Chinoserie Tea Caddy

This is a really nice and quite hard to find tea caddy / jar / lidded vase made by Bayeux in France in the mid 19th century during the Langlois period . They made some amazing things in the Chinoiserie taste and this piece is no exception. The main body is divided into six section with alternating relief designs of figures and plant designs. The figures are Asian and the plants are either in a vase or small trees / branches with butterflies and bugs and other designs in between or above. There is a green ground design below with flowers and bugs below that. Gold trim outlines each section. The lid has a red and gold design to the edge with a blue design to the top. The ground color is a celadon green. A very typical piece for this maker and it looks amaaing! OThe piece with the lid in place is 5 inches tall with a diameter of 3 inches. The caddy is in good condition with a tiny chip to the top edge and a larger flat chip to the top rim as shown. The lid is missing its finial. An easy fix for a decent restorer and it would be a stunning piece when all fixed up again. I think it displays fine as is and looks great! The piece is unmarked but that is very normal for this maker during this period. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
