B & G Pair Scenic Vases

This is a really nice pair of scenic vases made by Bing & Grondahl in their early period around 1870. B & G was founded in 1853 by Harald Bing and Frederik von Grondahl as well as the Ludwig brothers. These vases are about as good as it comes from this maker. Each vase has an off white ground color with a nice handle to each side ending in a putto face which is really nice but the best part is the scene to the front including a building - likely one of the royal residences or prominent buildings of the Copenhagen area - still need to do more research on that. I do believe on is Frederiksborg Castle not sure on the other one. The scenes are of really high quality and surrounded by some more nice gilding! One vase is in great condition with just a touch of gold wear and a filled in partial firing crack as shown which is from the making. The other vase has a restored chip to the top edge as shown and a bit of gold wear. They display perfectly and this sort of quality and a pair is not easily fround by this maker! A stunning set when on display. The vases are 9 inches tall and have a diameter of about 4.25 inches. Each is marked with the blue B&G mark that is a bit ahrd to see but it is there.
