Vegetable Seller Figurine

This is a figurine of a lady street vendor based on the original Cris de Paris series from the 18th century and re-made by Augarten in the early 20th century. She is a veggie merchant and is holding a basket filled with fresh vegetables on her right arm and ligting her apron with her elft hand to hold some more vegetables in that. Nicely dressed in a very modern looking skirt that was in at the time when she was first designed in the 18th century. Quite colorful a cheery! The figure is standing on a typical base with some nice gold scroll trim around the edge and a flower to the top with a tree stump to the back. A very well modeled figure with lots of superb hand painted detail all around. The figurine is in great condition with two leaves having been chipped which is hard to spot. She is 8.125 inches tall, 4.375 inches wide and 3.375 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Made in Austria in red (the early version that scratches off) as well as a number 30 as a painter's mark as shown. No impressed model number yet so she is a nice early version! Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $499
