Tierharmoniker Monkey Figurine

This is a superb figurine of an concertina / accordion playing monkey / ape which is part of the Vienna Tierhamoniker (a play on the Philharmonic and Tier means animal) made by Augarten in the early 20th century. These are some of the earliest pieces made by Augarten and this piece is from the original period! The monkey was designed by Karin Jarl in the early days of the manufactory. Superbly modeled and left in the white to show off all that nice modeling. A really fun figurine. The monkey is holding a concertina in his hands and looks to be having a great old time with his mouth open showing all the teeth. The figure is 3.25 inches tall, 2.875 inches wide and 2 inches deep. The piece is in perfect condition and marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath and Augarten Austria in a red rectangle that is mostly gone but can still be seen to know he is from the original period. Impressed model number 1583. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $299
