Powolny Figurine

This is a rare and superb figurine designed by the famous Michael Powolny for Augarten in the 1920's. It is of a semi nude putto wearing a blue jacket and a yellow hat with a flower on top standing on a nice base with some wheat by his feet and a water pot next to him. A fun figurine that is superbly modeled and hand painted. A fairly hard to find model especially in perfect condition which is the case here. The figure is 4.5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 1.875 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, a grey number 2, a red number 78 and impressed 1514 and Made in Austria in red above glaze with more of a sticker type design that can be removed. It is probably from the original period with that sort of sticker but I am not 100% on that. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $749
