Original Art Deco Peripherie Figurine

This is a rare and superb figurine titled "Peripherie" which I think was designed by Mathilde Jaksch and was made by Augarten during the original period in about 1930. It is of a man playing an accordion and a lady wearing the typical fashion of the time leaning on his shoulder. A superbly modeled and handpainted piece and I could only find one other which was white and not painted so definitely not a common model! Actually this seems to be the only known painted one! The figure is in perfect condition. The piece is 7 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide and 2.375 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Augarten Austria in a red rectangle and the impressed number 1676 with something behind it I cannot make out as well as the painters number 67 in black. There are initials incised into the back top of the base I cannot quite figure out but might be LJ. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $2499
