Blanc de Chine Kids Busts

This is a nice pair of child busts made by Augarten during the 20th century. Nice to find them still together as a pair instead of being split up! These two were designed by Ida Schwetz-Lehmann in the early 20th century who also designed a few other pieces including the Madonna bust one sees much more often. The boy is definitely modeled in the style of the period while the girl could fit in anytime really. Each figure is nicely modeled and left in the white to show off the porcelain itself. Each figurine is about 7 inches tall, about 4 inches deep and about 5.5 to 6 inches wide. Each figure is marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath as well as the impressed model number 1751, the letter V as well as made in Austria. Both have one line cut under the mark denoting them as seconds though I am not sure why as they appear perfect to me. The boy has three lines cut into the corner of his collar which looks to be done on purpose but might also be the reason for him being a second choice. The artist name is incised underneath one of the shoulders of each figurine. Each bust is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or photos.
