Original Roasted Chicken Merchant Figurine

This is a figurine of a gentleman street vendor based on the original Cris de Paris market sellers series from the 18th century made by Augarten in the early 20th century during the original period. He is a roasted chicken seller and is holding two raosted chicken on a spit while there are a few more being roasted in a pan over a coal fire oven. He is nicely dressed and leaning against the oven on a typical Vienna base with some nice gilding on the edge. A very well modeled figure with lots of superb hand painted detail all around. The figure is in perfect condition which is always a bonus and not a model you come across often at all. He is 7.5 inches tall, 3.325 inches wide and 2.375 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Augarten Austria in a red rectangle as well as the impressed model number 1013 as shown.
