Original Period Child Bust Pair

This is a nice pair of child busts made by Augarten during the early 20th century. Rare to find them from the original period most are later versions so they are special plus still together as a pair. These two were designed by Ida Schwetz-Lehmann who also designed a few other pieces including the Madonna bust one sees much more often. The buy is definitely modeled in the style of the period while the girl could fit in anytime really. The figures are nicely modeled and left in the white to show off the porcelain itself. The figurines are about 7.25 inches tall, about 4 inches deep and about 5.5 inches wide. Each figure is underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath as well as the impressed model number 1751 but what makes these a bit more special is the Augarten Austria in red overglaze which dates them to the early period. The girl has a clear mark while the boys are just remnant in red from where the mark was. For some reason these easily come off which is often the case almost like it was added as an after thought. as well as the letter S. The artist name is incised underneath one of the shoulders of each figurine. Each bust is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or photos.
