Lady w/Chessboard Figurine

This is a figurine of a waitress holding a chessboard made by Augarten in the early 20th century. Originally an 18th century Vienna version Augarten redid them in the early 20th century and later. This piece is from this original period! Not sure why a waitress is holding a chessboard but I am sure there is a reason for it :) The figurine is nicely modeled wearing a fancy dress and standing on a base with the typical Royal Vienna gold trim. The piece is hand painted with lots of detail and nice colors. Wish I had the 18th century original to stand them side by side but I am not that lucky. The figure is in perfect condition! She is 7.75 inches tall, 3.375 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Augarten Austria in a red rectangle, a green 12 painter's mark, the letter V impressed and the model number 1007 as shown. I think you can still get the piece made by them and it costs around 2100 Euros if you do. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $699
