Original Period Eel Seller Figurine

This is a figurine of a gentleman with a basket by his side made by Augarten in the early 20th century during the original period he was first designed in. The figure is of a street vendor and he is meant to be selling eels but if you'd like to bring him into the 21st century we could just say he is selling Kale :) The eels are covered in the greenery to keep them cool and moist with one purplish eel slivering over his hand. He is holding a walking stick in his left, has a flower on top of the base and and is superbly modeled with lots of detail and hand painted to perfection. Really a nice model and one of my favorite ones as well. I own it more than once but this is teh frist I ahve had from the original period. The figure displays nicely but the eel has been restored in the center section that is over his hand and his index finger tip under the eel as well. Impossible to spot when on display! The piece is 6.625 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Augarten Austria in a red rectangle, the usual impressed marks including the model number 1014, a black painter's number 27 and impressed II (I think). Please email me for more information or photos.
