Original Black Scenic Plate #3

This is a reticulated plate made by Augarten during the original period in the early 20th century. It is handpainted with a superb scene in the center of the Ruine Werfenstein a Donaustrudel and has a nicely reticulated rim highlighted with a nice design in grey tones and gilding. This rim design is slightly different from the other two plates in that it does not have the floral cartouches on the rim. The plate is 0.75 inches tall and 7.875 inches in diameter. It is in perfect condition with an area of black trim around one cartouch on the rim having flaked off. It doesn't take away from the piece. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, a black 10, F.4 and D.5199 as well as the words Augarten Austria in red in a rectangular box and the title of the scene as shown.
