Fantastic Dog Figurine

This is a really superb figurine of a dog made by Augarten around the early to mid 20th century. A nice early piece for this maker as it has the Made in Austria mark in red added after firing and no model number yet though it would be 1670. I think he is a setter though don't hold me to that as I am not very good with dog breeds. The figure is superbly modeled and full of motion and little details and hand painted with brown patches. The figurine is about 2.5 inches tall, 2 inches wide and 6.75 inches long. Bigger than many of their models. The piece is in perfect condition! There are two ground down spots on his belly not visible when on display from where firing supports were attached when he was made. That is normal! Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath (hard to see), Made in Austria in red and a black 28. as a painter's number.
