Powolny Nude Putto Figurine

This is a superb figurine designed by the famous Michael Powolny for Augarten in the 1920's. This one is a bit later than the original period but just as nice. The figure is of a semi nude putto wearing a blue jacket and a yellow hat with a flower on top standing on a nice base with some wheat by his feet and a water pot next to him. A fun figurine that is superbly modeled and hand painted. A fairly hard to find model especially in perfect condition which is the case here. The figure is 4.5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, a black number 122, impressed 1514 and Made in Austria and the letter I and Augarten Wien Austria in red above glaze.
