Large Greyhound Figurine

This is a superb figure of a Greyhound / Whippet made by Augarten in the mid 20th century. This is probably the most popular of their dogs and one of the hardest to find especially this painted medium sized version. The figurine is superbly modeled and painted just enough to look real. You can even see its ribs a tiny bit and all the muscels. The figurine is 5 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 10.625 inches long. The figure is in perfect condition. It is marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, impressed number 1714 as well as an II (the size reference), impressed Made in Austria, impressed letter S and a painter's number 219 in black.
