Map Seller Figurine #2

This is is a porcelain figurine made by Augarten in the mid 20th century. It is one of the Paris artisan / vendor of the Cris de Paris series Royal Vienna made in the 18th century. Augarten re-did them in the early 20th century and then later on as well. This is the map seller of the series. He is holding an open map in his right hand and a rolled up one in his left. A large box on his back with a black & white item on top and an oval box under his left arm. The map is of the northern part of German including the Ost See aka the Baltic Sea showing a part of the coastline and some towns including Luebeck , Schwerin and down to Wittenberg which is famous for Martin Luther . A very well modeled figure that is hand painted to perfection. Lots of little details including a flower on the base and the typical Vienna gold trim to the edge of the base. The figure is in perfect condition. It is 6.875 inches tall, 3.875 inches wide and 3 inches deep. The piece is marked underneath with the underglaze blue shield mark with the word Wien underneath, Made in Austria impressed and a letter D and a painter's number 28. as shown.
