Original Art Deco Lovers Figurine

This is a superb figurine titled "Young Love" which was designed by Mathilde Jaksch and was made by Augarten during the original period in the early 20th century. Hard to find the painted version from the original period! It is of a man (who looks rather metrosexual so maybe this isn't a new phenomenon!) and a lady sitting next to each other on a tree stump. They are dressed nicely in the period fashion with a little birdie behind them. A superbly modeled and handpainted piece and I could only find one other piece so definitely not a common model! The figure is in good condition with the thumb of the left hadn of the guy being gone and a shallow chip to the top of her right shoe which was overpainted to hide it when on display. The piece is 4.25 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Augarten Austria in a red rectangle and the impressed number 1576 as well as the painters number 69 in black.
