Original Jugendstil Lady Figurine

This is a really nice figurine of a young lady holding some fruit made by Augarten during the original period in the early 20th century. She is supposed to be Selysette from the Belgian play Aglavaine und Selyette by Maurice Maeterlinck. When Selysette realized that Aglavaine was in love with another she comitted suicide as to not be in the way of her husband. Here she is depicted as a dancing lady that is nicely modelled and hand painted in the Art Nouveau taste of the period. She is nicely dressed with the fruit in her hands. Originally designed by the famous Mathilde Jaksch in the 1920s. It is a really stunning figurine! Does not get much better from this maker. The figurine is in perfect condition! The piece is just over 6.25 inches tall, 2.125 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, the model number 1558 impressed, a number 3 imressed, a painter's number I can't quite make out and remnants of the Augarten Austria mark in red which has been scratched away for the most part for reasons I cannot understand, as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.
