Eel Seller Figurine

This is a figurine of a gentleman with a basket by his side made by Augarten in the mid 20th century. The figure is of a street vendor and he is meant to be selling eels but if you'd like to bring him into the 21st century we could just say he is selling Kale :) The eels are covered in the greenery to keep them cool and moist. He is holding a walking stick in his left and and is superbly modeled with lots of detail and hand painted to perfection.Really a nice model and not one of the more common ones! The figure is in perfect condition and is 6.875 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Augarten Wien Austria in red, the usual impressed marks including the model number 1014, a black painter's number 203. impressed letter Z and Made in Austria as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.
