Du Paquier Lidded Box

This is a fun lidded dish or box after an 18th century duPaquier Vienna factory original re- made by Augarten during their original period of the early 20th century. A superbly modeled dish with the decoration in relief and then hand painted in polychrome. Limited color palette just like the du Paquier pieces would ahve had. An iron red, pink, green and yellow plus a bit of gilding. I especially like the birds hidden in the flowers :) Not sure what kind of dish it was used as but probably sugar. The piece is 5.5 inches tall and has a diameter of 6.875 inches. It is in perfect condition and marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Augarten Austria in a red rectangle as well as some red numbers as shown. An unusual piece and not something I have come across before. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $699
