Figurine of Love

This is a superb figurine of a cupid / Amor made by Augarten during the the early 20th century. The figure was designed by Mathilde Szendrö - Jaksch in 1926 and is meant to represent love with the cherub holding a heart in his left hand while holding a ring in his right hand behind his back. This would make a fun way to ask your girlfriend to marry you :) The figurine is superbly modeled with lots of details and hand painted to perfection. The scroll work around the base has some nice puce and gold highlights and his quiver is nicely placed to hide his mid section / front. The figure is just under 6 inches tall and the base has a diameter of about 2.875 inches. It is in perfect condition but does have a tiny firing flaw from when it was made in the heart - right side top when looking at it from the front. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Made in Austria impressed as well as a painter's mark 31 in puce as shown. The model number 1555 is also impressed. Please email me for more information or photos.
