Asian Boy with Lantern Figurine

This is a superb figurine which was designed by Mathilde Jaksch and was made by Augarten during the original period in the early 20th century. Hard to find the versions from the original period! It is of an Asian boy with a paper lantern in one hand and a candle in his other hand. The peice is superbly modled and handpainted with lots of detail. The figure is in perfect condition. The piece is 6.125 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, the remnants of the Augarten Austria in a red rectangle mark and the impressed number 1691 as well as the painters number 27 in green.
