African Lady w/ Gazelle Figurine

This is a stunning and rare figurine of a nude African lady holding a gazelle which was designed by Robert Ullmann in 1931 and made by Augarten during this period. This has to be one of the greatest figures from this period by any maker! It is a very rare piece especially the painted version. The lady is totally nude and is painted superbly but the gazelle is amazing and perfect for the Art Deco period. The lady is holding / petting the gazelle while kneeling on a nicely shaped base painted in a simple sand color. A superbly modeled and hand painted figure! The figurine is in perfect condition which is another plus :) The piece is 6 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath, Augarten Austria in a red rectangle and the impressed number 1686 over 4. Painter's mark 2 in black. The top of the base has the modeler's name impressed as well as the year 1931. It really does not come better than this figure! Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $1999
