Ansbach Princess Figurine

This is a rare figurine made made by Ansbach in the 18th century. The figure is from their Nations du Levant series from about 1767 and represents a Wallachian Princess. Wallachia is a region of modern day Romania. The figurine is of a nicely dressed lady wearing a fur hat and fur lines coat that is painted with a red and blue design. Typical base for this maker with a touch of green to it and simple gilded scrolls. Ansbach started making porcelain around 1758 and the factory flourished from 1758 through 1777. They closed somewhere around 1860 but the factory was already in private hands since 1807. The figurine is not marked underneath which is also typical of Ansbach since their figures where never marked with the factory marks. Another typical thing is that their figurines are pretty lightweight and this piece is no exception. The figurine is 4.625 inches tall,1.75 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. The figure is in great condition with a small rough spot to the tip of her nose. A very rare piece that is in great shape! Please email me for more information or photos.
