Alcora Floral Plate #2

This is a rare small plate made by Alcora of Spain in the late 18th century. The full name of the maker is Real Fábrica del Conde de Aranda ( l'Alcora ) and it is really hard to find a piece by this maker! Plates and cups are found mostly in museums and often damaged. The plate is hand painted with a floral arrangement to on side and two smaller single flowers to the other. Their typical pink trim to the edge. This piece would have belonged to the German flower series of dishes inspired by the engravings of Weidemann . The design was introduced by Vincente Alvaro after a stay in Paris which explains why it looks so French in style. The quality of the porcelain is very nice with some inclusions in the paste and the hand painted decoration is quite nice as well. The glaze has a bluish tint to it. The dish is marked with their typical A mark in black as shown. The piece is in good condition with some use marks, a chip to the underside rim edge and another to the foot ring. Inclusions/impurities to the paste. Displays nicely and is a nice example by a very rare maker! The piece is 0.875 inches tall and 7.5 inches in diameter.
