Large Bird Scene Breakfast Cup & Saucer

This is a nice cup and saucer made in France in the early 19th century . This design was originally produced by Coalport and is known as the Church Gresley pattern. A really nice pattern with lots of geometric patterns including yellow ground compartments with blue cornflowers in the center, roses on white ground, that typical red oval with a green center design and lots of gold trim. A blue ring around the well and edge. A single rose in the center of the well. One of the more fun pattern of this period! The cup and saucer are in great condition with just some light wear to the gilding mainly around the well of the saucer. Some firing impurities to the yellow ground near the handle of the cup and a flaw to the foot ring that does not affect it at all. The set display nicely and this is not a common pattern to find at all. The cup is 2.25 inches tall and 3.25 inches in diameter. The saucer is just over 1.25 inches tall with a diameter of 5.25 inches. Both pieces are marked with the Sevres interlaced double script L mark that Coalport did use but the paste is all wrong. Foecy also used this mark so this was likely made by them. Each has an incised letter as well. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
