Floral Lid

This is a lonely lid probably for a sugar pot or a large ointment pot or such item and was made in France in the 18th century. The design suggests a maker like Locre but not being marked it is hard to be sure. The piece is hand painted with a floral arrangement to one side and two alrger single flowers filling in the rest of the piece. Nice gold trim to the edge and a fruit finial that is gilded. It's a ncie early peice and if you have one missing this would be a rare occasion to make your piece complete again. The lid is in superb condition with the most minor of wear and a few small firing flaws plus a larger firing crack on the udnersie center only as shown but as nice as they come for it's age and style. Unmarked which is very normal when you just have a lid. The piece is 0.75 inches tall (from gold edge to top of finial with an outer diameter of 3.125 inches. the ring on the underside that sits inside the main body is about 0.125 inches tall and the outer diameter of the underside ring which fits inside the main body is 2.75 inches so the inside diameter ofw whatever item you want to use it for needs to be at least that size or a touch bigger!
