Porcelainbiz FAQ |
For more information on a particular piece, to just chat about porcelain, make suggestions or if you have questions, please email Matt: matthias@porcelainbiz.com Just remember if I don't answer your email, it means that I did not receive it or I answered and it is in your spam folder! |
Can you help me ID my item, etc.? I most certainly will give it a shot but since so many people ask and I rarely even get as much as a 'Thank You' I will now charge for it. Please Paypal $25 for my time and work to my above email address. Since that charge is sometimes a bit much, I will do this: 1) If a piece is not worth much at all I will refund you $20 after I am done and have sent you my answer 2) If I cannot ID a piece or am uncertain enough to not make an educated guess I will refund you the complete amount 3) If it ends up involving a lot of time or you need something in a more formal written format I might charge a bit more as well I will not answer emails that do not have photos included since I cannot do anything without "seeing" the piece. Consignments: If anyone has a piece they would like me to display here I can do so. Simple rules - after having a few issues out of my control I now the item here at my place so I can inspect it and to make sure the sale goes as smoothly as it should. I will send the payment minus my cut to the seller and this way it should all go smoothly and be as foolproof as possible. Generally I will keep 10% of the sale price or a negotiated percentage for this work. About the Prices: My prices are lower than what you will find at an antique store or show and then some so I dont want to hear any wining. If you want Ebay prices go to Ebay and deal with the many issues you will find along with it that you will never encounter here. I might budge a bit on the price but as always that depends on the piece, the price, my mood, if you are a repeat buyer or buy multiple items. Please don't email with a $10 offer on a $100 Dollar item. I am not a fan of wasting your time nor mine. Return Policy I describe the items as best as I can and show photos of all the angles and will mention all flaws and restoration. So if you are not sure about a piece do your research before you purchase an item since no one can know everything. I don't do returns unless I miss a restoration which does not happen often at all. Shipping & Packing: I pack extremely well and use only the good stuff like bubble wrap and peanuts, etc. I insure the items fully whenever possible and ship priority mail via USPS in the US. I do cater to special requirements as much as possible. Forms of Payment Accepted: I can accept pretty much anything but prefer money orders and checks from US customers and bank transfers from international customers. I can also accept Paypal or international money orders if need be. |
